1. Treasurer Report 

September to mid-October report given out. Treasurer, Tye, noted $20K balance with $16K middle school and general. $3K+ is for pre-K. 

Spirit wear and gym uniforms, HSC membership, Back to School snack grams, pre-k drive thru idea, Boo grams. No cash counted – only Square (Venmo payment). 

September expenses- school inventory, approved to $1K- school store. Teacher of the month given $5 Wawa gift card. 

Pending expenses- 

• Mr. Lyons noted prior meeting regards to PBIS donations – check Amazon wish list ($1K budget). Ms. Rose-Bounds mentioned to share Amazon wish list soon. 
• Fall fest too. 
• Teachers’ lounge furniture/well deserved- agreement prior to school start with officers. Payment option pending. 
• Under $400 in school store spent. 

2. Principal’s Report 

4 items to discuss. 

1. Back to school night – growth as focus on academics, state test and start benchmark.
   1. Progress reports out last week – teachers/parents – discuss goals w/ children. 
   2. Parent conferences coming up. 
2. 6^th grade students- to get more proactive/discipline – Jaguars CARE acclimated to program. (what expected, resolve conflict, advocate and if/when they need help)
   1. PBIS program – eliminated Halloween dance – when not a structured event- children are running around the gym- more productive w/ upcoming Fall Festival (games, candy) as a family fun event too.
      1. Fall Festival, possibly new tradition, is 10/24 from 6:30-8 p.m. with a $5 cost (recoup expenses occurred with games, pumpkins, etc.)
      2. Gloucester Twp Day in past noted along with parents to be w/ children at Mall(s)- need to give kids structure. 
3. Parent groups at district level – special education meeting. Interest group too, coalition for parents of color – minority population. (recruit for more minority teaching staff too- good & better – talk to parents)
4. Every month, PBIS program such as November-December with volleyball.

4. Preschool Report 

• Back to school and drive thru and Boo grams discussed. 
• Chucky Cheese (the mouse) is visiting, and they have an event coming up Friday, 5 to 9 p.m. 
• Preschool meeting 10/23 from 7 to 8 p.m. in Mullen Library in person only.

*Question from parent noting past 4 years curriculum – Science/Social studies (back and forth subjects, why)– Ms. Rose-Bounds addressed to talk to the Board of Education >>>Next Board of Education meeting is November 20^th, 9:30 a.m. (17 Erial Road, Blackwood). NOTE: Per contract/teacher- 5 classes a day/in Blocks- per Ms. Rose-Bounds. (Minutes of school day/year are broken down on how much spent on Science and Social Studies. 

5. Executive Board Report 

1. HSC Membership Perks – student will earn PBIS pts for volunteering/participating. (Sign-In at meeting) 
2. HSC Parent Survey – encourage all to fill out. Results in November.
3. HSC Teacher Survey – helps with teacher needs. – Results also in November. 
4. Volunteers in the Jaguar Den – there is a Sign-Up Genius – 7 grade period lunch – 11:50 to 12:20 slot remains opens and 12:20 to 1 p.m. NOTE: PBIS pts rewarded to student. 

6.Recap of Events for September and mid-October 

1. September 25, 2025 –Pre-K Back to School Night
   1. New cub t-shirt introduced- crew neck, shirts – Oct. 10^th closed and will order extra. 
2. September 26, 2025-Spirit Day/7th & 8th Grade Social
   1.  wear Mullen swag. (need planned/structured activities if any). 
3. October 1, 2025 -Title One Parent Night
   1.  Additional funding support at risk population. School wide tutoring – reach out to counselors – tutors paid. 
   2. 6^th through 8^th grade are from 1^st through 3^rd grade (COVID) – skill deficiet where spending tutoring, intervention and parents involved in events- partner w/ parents. 
4. October 6, 2025 -New Product Drop in Jaguar Den
   1. New merch drop – approval – kids like so far – sale last 2 weeks -more items in by Thanksgiving. 
5. October 9, 2025 -6th Grade Picnic in the Park – noted. 

7.Upcoming Events 

1. October 16, 2025 – Texas Roadhouse 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. – MENTION MULLEN/10%. 
2. October 17, 2025 -Pre-K Dine Out Night Chuck E Cheese 
3. October 20, 2025 -7th and 8th Picnic in the Park 
4. October 21, 2025 – GLOW Fundraiser 
5. October 24, 2025 – Ann Mullen Fall Festival / Haunted Hallways

8. Council of Schools/ Board of Education 

* parent question/concern about HSC reminder being sent out around 4:30 today, 10/16- two hours before meeting.  What are modes of communication and can be reminded earlier? 

• HSC does control social media- Gloucester Twp emails are through Ms. Rose-Bounds. 
• Same link from first meeting was sent out today. The meeting is also on the Mullen web page and Google calendar – updated monthly basis and click on ‘See All Events’. 

9. New Business Family Event Proposal 

1. Radical Reptiles 
   • Snakes, lizards, turtle for example and facts/stories being shared. At end there is 8-9ft python
   • November 25^th proposed event for family/students from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. 
   • Would students be interested?
     1. Some say assembly during school would be ideal. 
     2. Science teachers excited/enthusiastic about program. 
     3. Maybe survey sent out to students suggested
        1. PBIS awarded.
     4. Every event is not for everyone noted.  
     5. Extra credit maybe given out. 
     6. HSC selling concessions maybe. 
2. Fundraiser – Gertrude Hawk Chocolate Bars
   • Variety flavors, 6 cases – TBD for more. (Outlet picked up at). 

10. Questions/Concerns 

1. Picture day – volunteering and Summer Reading – need PBIS pts – still missing- in progress per Ms. Rose- Bounds. Noted points for the picnic in park missed from these points not being added sooner. 

Note from parent: PBIS teaches kids to budget-good thing. 

FYI – PBIS can be refunded (absent student for example). 

2. 11/13 Challenge Day – budgeted for smaller group – this day is recognized to break down barriers – those who do not know each other – High school’s support too – 
3. Math/Science club…  Robotics coming too, Chess club, Drill, Horticulture and such with Science Fair coming in the Spring. 
4. Food drive? Holidays, canned good – not yet?
   1. Profits from activities help with Giving Tree per Ms. Rose-Bounds.
      1. Parents pick up the items only- not students. 
   2. Mullen partners with agencies, churches – parents support around Thanksgiving/Christmas time.
   3. HSC maybe receive list of names to donate to.
      1. Sponsor certain families or see the Giving Tree.
      2. Put it under as ‘HSC’- accountability noted. 
      3. Cash collected under ‘HSC’- family need maybe link sent out. 
   4. Black Friday deals mentioned to participate in the giving too- see what is left on the tree.
      1. Coats, hats, gloves, sneakers and hoodies are some examples.
